On St. Faustina

I think Sr. Faustina had it right a long time ago.  There are some strong words buried in a little verse in her chaplet:

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

My goodness.  Not sure if a human being could offer a more perfect prayer...

Yes, we offer ourselves, our lives.  But it's not enough -- because we are sinful...

So we offer Jesus.  And we offer the Body and Blood. It's Eucharistic.

It's not enough to pray for oneself or one's community.  That's too narrow-minded.  So we pray for the whole world.

St. Faustina is now on-track to become a doctor of the church.  Let's hope it goes well. One can learn more about Sr. Faustina and the Divine Mercy here:
